You should be O.K. finding sites in the UK that early in the season.
There are many online guides to camp sites.
For off-grid there are a couple, one of which is Park4Night.
April 7th to 10th is a Bank Holiday so sites will more than likely be busy.
Some pubs will let you stay in their car park if you intend to eat there. (Ask first! ;))
Do you have a refillable gas system or exchangeable (French?) cylinders?

I'm sure others will add info.

(My U.K. based son and DIL are at the beginning of a 3 month NZ tour which has been rather disrupted by cyclone Gabrielle out there).
I was looking for this post. I have French bottles and will need to get them filled or exchanged or something. Any recommendations?

Where in NZ is your son now?

There’s also the 7 Stanes in Scotland.

If you get to Not Glasgow, give me a shout and I’ll guide you around the trails we have.

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
Can't really help with the gas as having refillables I've never had to consider it. I may be wrong but I don't think you can get get 'foreign' cylinders refilled here, although it may be possible at a specialist gas supplier (e.g. a Flogas centre?) who has a suitable adapter but you'll need to locate different centres throughout your tour. Hopefully someone else can advise.
As far as buying Calor cylinders I've read on the Calor website that they have suspended supplying new cylinders to new customers.
If you are likely to be in Sussex I can loan you my spare (full) Calor 6kg propane cylinder but I think you'll need an appropriate pigtail to connect it to your regulator.

In his latest blog my son and DIL were here.
They have taken their inflatable kayak and tandem with them!

Nice. Google Ruakuri Bushwalk. If you go on a night with less moon, the glow worms come out along the path. I recommend going in the day to get familiar, then go back at night. There is also a tourist boat ride that takes you into a big cave to view the glow worms in the area and loads of activities. But the night walk was my favorite, maybe because it was free!

Also Google Otumuheke Stream (Spa Park Hot Pools) . This was a place we would go at night on a full moon to soak in the hot stream that meets the river (check closing time of parking lot, I’ve been locked in once😂). From some of the photos it looks as if they have added stands there, not sure if it’s still a good spot.

Pretty sure this has been asked loads of time but I don't have the hang of searching topics yet. I will be heading to the UK from Toulouse. (Starting 2 March). I will have two months in the countries. Yea me!!!!
Any recommendations on which way to get there? Favourite places/sites to stay at and ones to stay away from. (good places to ride my electric mountain bike) I also need to get some work done on my Hymer, any recommendations on best place to contact for that? (install awning, install safe and a few other bits). Thanks in advance
You have 2 options on getting to the UK,tunnel or ferry and once you hit the UK,not literally 🙈🙈,you can go west, more mountains in the lake district or east, lots of lovely coastal roads villages and towns or up the middle,Al/M1.also you have Cornwall, which is a beautiful place. If your not stuck on campsites, when I travel, sometimes I park up on an industrial road, legal, but some have 100% double yellow lines, some 50% and some don't have any.but there somewhere to park up and normally you'll find a supermarket near by and a mac donalds etc.but nothing like the Aires of France and Spain etc.the UK isn't as people friendly I'm afraid and try not fill up at the service stations, you'll be paying alot more per litre.get the petrol App and plan your journey that way,as every penny counts.have a fantastic trip and stay safe my French friend ☺️
