Anyone know if dolphin watching at Chanory Point, in Scotland, is still a viable option in September ?

We were up there in 2010 in September and had a fantastic viewing of these beautiful creatures. The C&CC club site at Rosemarkie is the nearest but there are plenty of alternatives nearby. Also up the road is a look out research station for Dolphins. We are heading up there on Monday.
Enjoy your trip and don't forget your binoculars.

Dolphins at Rosemarkie

September's OK.

If Al's at Chanonry Point the dolphins aren't far away ! Al's easily recognisable - always in camouflage gear, one very short arm - thalidomide. Lives locally.

He's A Arbuckle Photography on Flickr - lots of dolphin shots.

I was standing next to him last September when he took a fabulous close-up of a dolphin leaping. My pic just shows the splash!

Regards

Peter

PS Beware - Al's a biker !!!

Looking through Charlie Phillips brilliant website - www.charliephillipsimages.co.uk - reminded me that Hilldweller has enthused - yes, rare but true - about wild camping close to the Whale & Dolphin Centre at Spey Bay on the south side of the Moray Firth.

There's probably a plaque: "Hilldweller enthused here." Must be worth a visit...:ROFLMAO:

Dixon, you will need to take the van to Channery Point as it will be to far for Barbara without, even with the trike so I think the site at Fortrose would be closer for watching the Dolphins, but from the CCC site at Rosmarkie you would be able to get into the village and beach front with Barbara's trike, wonder if any one knows how far the Fortrose site is from Channery Point.

Where every you decide to go a really nice area to look around.

According to the Fortrose website, Chanory Point is a 10 minute walk away
It would appear that this one will be better from an access point of view:thumb:
