After being totally underwhelmed with Ghent, I am enthused about Delft. We are in the local camp site as recommended by a few Funsters (albeit in the overflow section because we didn't plan/book to be here)
Delft is a lively, thriving little town full of cafes, bars, shops that is an easy cycle ride from the camp site.
Someone even mentioned IKEA being very close and although I was hoping that Mrs Shop wouldn't have known it was there, as we turned the corner about 500 yards from the campsite it smacked me in the face, IKEA not SWMS (She Who Must Shop), anyway all is good now we've managed to accumulate more cushion covers, meatballs, washing up stuff, biscuits, orange flavoured Daim bars for Christmas.... and it's apparently been a fantastic four week trip around Europe!
