We have a been invited to meet up with some friends on a canal boat and a couple of camper vans/motorhomes. The local site is a CCC one and we are not members. Seems silly to join up for £63 plus the campsite fee for a couple of nights!!! I did wonder as my insurance is due soon, whether joining my be worth it for insurance discount.

I'm currently with Comfort. I doubt CCC will quote me as a non member and then allow me to join if it's worth it???

Does anyone know which insurance company they are affiliated to or do they use a range of companies? I'm wondering whether it's worth calling the company they use to get a quote and then see what discount they would give for being a member.

I think this is probably all pointless and a waster of effort but just thought I'd ask. I'll probably end up camping on the roadside outside the CCC site gate!

May be worth you exploring. We are insured with CCC for a new van ( May 23) and they were cheaper than all the usual suspects , Comfort Caravanguard etc and they use the same underwriters as Caravanguard.

Ah - may have some confusion over clubs here. I think the one we are looking at staying is a CMC one which is £63.

Does anyone know do CMC do insurance discounts?

Devitt is the CAMC broker. I changed to them (no changes to my circumstances) via the CAMC as they were 20% less expensive than my Comfort renewal, with whom I'd been insured for the previous 11 years.

I have just gone with CMHC insurance and saved 30% over my usual insurer.

I think I answered ‘yes’ to being a club member on the online form but don’t think they asked for any details.

I am on the phone as I type this to the CCC they use Highway which has a max windscreen cover of £600 not a lot of good for our A class the screen is £3260. Surprised as it is a camping and Caravan club for campers and motor homers and expensive at £652 or with another broker with full windscreen at £860

Not to correct Bessy765 (above) in any way whatsoever, but I am also with CCC
when it comes to Motorhome Insurance.

I also have an A Class and, when I took out the Insurance recently I made sure that the
Windscreen cover was sufficient, should a breakage occur.

My policy was underwritten by a different team to Highway who, I am advised are part of LV.

As a result of the above post by Bessy, I have telephoned CCC and they have confirmed that
I have unlimited Windscreen cover.

I also received a very competitive quote for the Insurance.

I was with CCC for years until I reached their age limit, they became very picky and refused to insure my two vans at one address, even though they were not high value and it was only until one was sold. I cannot imagine they still have that age limit, it must be a lucrative market at the current rates and a large part of the market.

Similar to me..... I was quoted double by previous insurer on renewal.... decided to look around.... on a MoHo comparison site and saved £350.... I did give the previous insurer chance to amend the quote.....but.... they still came £260 short...so CAMC got the business.... I only keep the CAMC for the CL's but clearly the membership benefit for insurance came up trumps

The CMC used to guarantee to beat your renewal quote by £25 not sure if this is still the case as we are no longer members
