Hi all.
Fitting my Autoterm Planar diesel heater. Main unit is inside the van at the rear below the fixed bed. Exhaust, intake and fuel line go out under the van
I want to bring the fuel line back into the van and fit the pump to it close to the heater, the fuel line would then run back out under the van and off to the van's own fuel tank.
Instructions say the pump should be mounted below the low level of the Fuel tank.
Does anyone know if that is necessary?
If I can mount the pump inside it will be out of the elements and in a very convenient position.

A few years.
I would assume that below the tank ensures the heater fuel line is full. Above the fuel level may mean the heater fuel line running dry and the pump failing?

The fuel line isn't allowed to enter the tank low down. It has to go to the "pick up pipe" which goes on at the top of the tank.
The manual states that the pump has to be mounted below the low level of the tank, but I can't see why ???
The pump itself is the new "silent" type.
Keith.
