Looking for a low cost option to run 240 volt fridge. Don't normally go without ehu.
Also does anyone know if you can get the portable panels out at an Aire or are they like tables and chairs?

Cant comment about the Solar panel, but the PWM is naff, I had fitted to my van and it seemed to restrict the amps. I changed it for a Victron unit which appears to be at least 3or 4 times better.

Yes I've had them before. The panel is OK but the controller is crappie and I've heard of them going on fire so be careful.

7 years campers before that
im of the opinion that most panels are good its the controllers that let them down
can you use them on an aire would depend on the layout and how busy the aire is ,why dont you want them on the roof fit and forget always on

It's not that I don't want them on roof. It's just easier to fit portable ones. Though I guess once fitted on roof permanent ones may be easier

The mppt controller doesn't suit lithium batteries ,which you may want to fit in the future otherwise the kit looks ok and reasonable price although personally the brackets are a bit naff and I would prefer the plastic ones that are just stuck to the roof rather than screwed. But that's my choice.

Agree about the plastic brackets but I have self converted Fiat with the flaky paint problem and don't think I could trust just "glue"

Sorry if this seems naive and I apologize as I have just discovered my local also sells caffreys, but what does mppt do that pwm doesn't and is an expensive mppt necessarily better than a cheap one?

I have spent a bit of time today researching controllers and have decided for the sake of another £70 or so it is better to go for victron. It would still appear a lot cheaper to buy a kit rather than all the components separately. The question is do I get one 200watt panel or two 100 watt ones. If spaced apart one may work when the other is in shade?
Could one wear out before the other etc?
Is there an always right answer or personal preference?
Dennis
