I can only find 2 12v sockets in our van. Seriously Carthago?

And they seem to be a different type. What do I need to order?

Mine look like this

You may find that USB sockets more useful, I have at least 8 scattered around the van for charging things up, also changed the 250v socket for one with usb sockets on.

Welcome to the world of Carthago 😀 they're Hella plugs, the next thing is to find out when they're actually powered up 🤔 you can get adaptors 👍

On my previous van I had converted to “fully” 12v so have cigarette plug sized carvers for the vax, the computers etc plus I don’t want to reinvest in all those high power usb thingies for my USB fast charge stuff - I’ll go look for the hella plugs. That’ll get me started!

As has been said Hella, absolutely brilliant and much better than our 12v cigarette adapter type rubbish.

Easy to get male sockets and fit to your 12v appliances...

Cheers

Pure luxury Hymer only fit one.
As said they are Hella plugs (standard in German cars) much better quality than the cigarette lighter type.

Don't buy the crap adaptors either cut the plugs off and fit Hella plugs or you can get these dual ones that do both.

I could only find one 12v 'Hella' socket in my 2016 Compactline. One of my first jobs was to fit three combi 'ciggy/usb' sockets around the van. They all seem to be running fans atm as it's currently 29C!

If you struggle to source the plugs, let me know. I think I was given a box of hella sockets and plugs a couple of weeks ago.

Remove them and fit some high quality aluminium usb A and C sockets 👌

Did exactly that with my last MH, converted the 2 in the cab/hab and added 2 above the beds (tapped into the light circuit) worked like a charm and made a big difference keeping phones/tablet/kindles charged....

Thanks to everyone for the tips, the Hells Hella (DYAC) plugs arrived today and did the job.

And in other news , both sockets are permanently live :party3:

But lord knows which battery feeds them! :whistle2:

Hab battery via CBE distribution unit in the garage.
I’ll dig a little tomorrow- there’s one in the front by the drivers seat and one in the rear bedroom: in one of the lockers..

All from the hab battery only the Fiat one on the dash is fed by the starter battery.
Correct. We have a Hella socket on the left side of the cab and a '2 usbs' socket (was one but the original was bust so dealer just put a double one in). We also have a single usb in the rear over the bed and as part of our deal got a ciggy socket put in as well, it didn't start off like that though as they swapped the usb for a ciggy one but when we were checking it, it started smoking (quite apt I suppose!😄) so they ended up fitting a separately wired ciggy socket next to the original usb socket, best of both worlds.

All are powered from the hab batteries.
