Anyone has experience of the tram to brugge from Westend bad? We're currently at an aire behind a campsite fir €16 a night and there is a tram outside of the site. Best way to pay fares etc?
It says online that tickets bought on the tram incurred a €7 surcharge. On a single fare of €3 that sounds excessive?

When we used Trams in Gent there were ticket machines at the tram stops.
I sure the campsite office would be able to tell you.

We caught the train from Knokke Heist into Brugge, buying ticket at the station, we had fun/problems coming home as the train separates on the journey back, going to another place which I can't remember name of but might well have been Westend bad. No one told us what happened so twice we were in the wrong half of the train and we ended up having to getting a tram along the coast. Good job we had given plenty of time to get the ferry. So watch out for that if you end up on the train.
We bought tram tickets prior to boarding at the tram stop.

I've planned a route online and it says you need to go to Ostend first then Brugge on the train from there. Pity we paid 2 nights. There's an aire 15 minutes walk to Brugge. Should have used that one. Cheaper too by the looks considering the train and tram fares.

And drive back tonight

We decided to come to Brugge aire instead of having the hassle of trains and trams and getting lost. Forgoing the €16 we paid for the extra night.so another question. The easier way to walk into Brugge or can you travel free as another poster said with your aire ticket.?

@Mel which way to walk to the centre please. Out of the aire? Still cloudy so hope the rain will keep off for our stroll round the city.
We didn't need electric but the sat navigation brought us straight to the aire and we have come in now . Say la vee. I can't spell that one .
Looks like we need to show the ticket in the van anyway.

both ways
If you go left to the station then cross the road and go to the centre
I would go right u till you reach the cross road then turn left.

There should be signs with a man walking and centre on them

Be carefull for cyclist they are everywhere.

Enjoy

@Mel have you the cords for the parking for tomorrow please as we are going to be early tomorrow for the ferry and don't want to pay another night. We came in at 11.03 and our ferry is not till 19.00h..
Brugge is lovely and bicycles are everywhere as you said.
We had a river trip for €8. Very nice didn't, fork out for the horse and carts for €50 though.
Lots and lots of tourists.

We tried to get the the Westende aire last week but couldn't figure out how to get past the road closures. We ended up instead at the lombardsijde aire which was just fine.
