Is there a standard date for aire closures or do the popular ones remain open longer?
Are ones in the south open longer or no appreciable difference.Have always visited end of April onwards,
Would we still find many open in October.
Thanks Jude

No standard dates for aire opening times (the vast majority are open all year)

Even the ones officially "closed" are mostly still accessible (probably the water is turned off though)

Advice in lower season is to always travel with full tanks and an empty loo - remember this is France were rules are more like guidelines (y)

Most are open all year as already said, as they are really just parking areas..
What you may find is no water in the colder months.. All aires are different..
We often travel November - February. Never an issue.. If I get desperate or see the opportunity I fill water in Garages.
Also a lot of the toilet blocks along the main roads and service areas have a "potable" tap as lorry drivers etc need to get fresh water...

nowhere near long enough
As has been said almost all are open all the year but the water may be turned off but on many you can reach the stop tap, please turn it off again

Had no probs whatsoever touring Europe in October; the Camperstop Europe book states the open months, mostly open all year but water can be turned off as stated above. Keep on truckin', Toby.
