Only ever owned / rode Japanese, mainly due to affordability.

However, I do like looking at the Triumphā€™s when I visit dealerships. šŸ‘

Like the BMW, reminds me of my R65LS boxer back in the day, not a sport bike fan, could never do the Ā“sh++ing monkeyĀ“ riding position.....and most bikes were/are much faster than me...

Not my sort of bike, I love Harleys šŸ˜‰šŸ˜„šŸ˜„
Have you seen the electric ones? I was on a site last week and a couple with a Hymer had one, he said top speed around 120 mph but 0 - 60 3 seconds! Range 150 miles.

Pal had one as a courtesy bike. Road a mile up the way and couldnā€™t wait to get it back. Hated it. Massive torque reaction and totally impossible to filter due to its width.

I had a r65 with rs fairing, loved it, toured Europe, commuted, instructed (used to demo part 1 around the cones when first came in in early 80's!)

For me the 65 was the sweet spot in size, the 45 was gutless and the 80Ā“s/100Ā“s were too much bike for me, I used to commute from Luton into North London - 45mins on the bike, the car would be 2hrs min and the trains, the less said the better.....
I always was a smaller bike fan, the Honda CG125 I had was brilliant around town and I used to take it on holiday (trailered) to Wales (Gower) from Surrey to blat around the lanes....Happy days, no bikes now, arthritic fingers donĀ“t always guarantee to work when you need them.....

Eight Years and 28,000 Miles.
The problem with 'beautiful' bikes is that they loose all proportion as soon as a rider sits on one.

I do like the 916 Ducato though.

I did over 90,000 miles on an ex police R80/7 my first BMW, fitted with an Avon fairing, apart from routine maintenance the only thing it needed was valve guides as it was getting a little smokey and I converted the points ignition to optical breaker so no need to worry about points gap after that. Great bike.

Yes, Iā€™ve ridden it. Like all electric bikes the fact that you have maximum torque from 0.001rpm all the way though to max revs gives them awesome acceleration that ICE bikes just cannot match.

Itā€™s addictive but not great for optimising range.šŸ˜Ž

I would have to say Bonneville.

I couldn't live with a trendy high seat + low handlebars riding position that most of the others have. OK for racing but that's all.

I also have nostalgia for lightweight Jap bikes with a low centre of gravity. Getting too old for bikes now.

Which one would you choose for your garage?

For me every one is a gem.

Are there any others you would added to this list?

78/79 Ducati 900SS looks better than all of those.

The most beautiful bikes.... are like

The most beautiful women...

High maintenance costs ......

and why motorcycles are better than women.

  • Your motorcycle doesn't get upset when you forget its birthday.
  • Motorcycles don't whine unless something is really wrong.
  • You can kick your Motorcycle to wake it up.
  • Motorcycles don't have parents
  • You can ride a Motorcycles any time of the month.
  • If your Motorcycle makes too much noise, you can buy a muffler.
  • If your Motorcycle smokes, you can do something about it.
  • Motorcycles don't care about how many other Motorcycles you have ridden.
  • Motorcycles don't care about how many other Motorcycles you have.
  • Motorcycles don't mind if you look at other Motorcycles, or if you buy Motorcycle magazines.
  • If your -Broken Link Removed- is too soft, you can get different shocks.
  • You don't have to be jealous of the guy that works on your Motorcycle.
  • If you say bad things to your Motorcycles, you don't have to apologize before you can ride it again.
  • Your parents don't remain in touch with your old Motorcycle after you dump it.
  • Motorcycles always feel like going for a ride.
  • Motorcycles don't insult you if you are a bad rider.
  • You don't have to take a shower before riding your Motorcycle.
  • It's always ok to use tie downs on your Motorcycle.
  • If your Motorcycle doesn't look good, you can paint it or get better parts.
  • You can't get diseases from a Motorcycle you don't know very well.

I love Triumphs as I own a 1976 750cc Triumph Bonneville T140v and a 2002 900cc Triumph Thunderbird.
