Yep i understand all the implications of having such a thing fitted, not worried about it at all to be honest.
The real crooks are the insurance companies - will try anything not to pay out - for instance if i were stationary at a junction and a car plowed into me cos they were on their phone or similar they would not want to pay me cos i have this chip on, but what did that have to do with the accident is my argument.
I have recently found out by morethan that i have been swindled out of about 12 yrs NCD !
I was with morethan insurance for he last 5 yrs with our car policy, my previous insurer stated if you had 9yrs or more NCD you then had FULL NCD - When applying on their website 9yrs was the maximum you could say you had, even though you may have over 20yrs, so when i left them and went to morethan i only took 9 yrs with me when i had far more... I recently asked morethan how many yrs no claims i have an it turns out i now only have 13yrs.. so my insurance with my new insurer is costing me more money now but they dont want to talk about that !

I'd like to see an opinion from an insurer on that, if their rules dictate that a modification must be declared...

I was a section leader a major motor insurance company claims department for a number of years. There are no rules just terms and conditions that can be challenged by policyholders, the insurance ombudsman and the courts.

In a multi million £ claim, it would be worth them fighting tooth and nail not to pay out

In a big claim, which would obviously need to involve serious injury or death, the claims department are less likely to argue a claim as they would have the MIB on their case.

many many years! since I was a kid
be aware that all the cheap "tuning" chips are is a variable resistor. this modifies the signal to the injector pump holding the fuel on a little more. A proper remap of the ecu changes many settings and in theory if done properly is much safer for the engine

I fitted a plug in "tuning" chip on the fuel rail of my navara. at first it appeared to help but caused issues with the ecu going into limp mode due to overfueling

Hi. MMM looks a bargain for 5 issues. Any chance of you posting the link from the email, rather than a photo please.

Thanks,
Rob

Just had this email.
MMM offering 5 issues for £5
View attachment 199436

The paperwork on this came through this week and I noted, “ALL DIRECT DEBITS SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE FOR A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR”

So it works out £5.00 + £29.97 = £34.97 for 14 months. As the website link made no reference to this I don’t think Warner’s have a leg to stand on but I was just reporting what I discovered.

Edit - checked the T&Cs on the website page and there is no reference to a one year minimum contract so feel free to cancel.

Hi Manic/Sidney.

I took issue with the letter from Warners re minimum direct debit, and emailed them:

Good morning. I note you took £5 from my bank account on 19 December in response to your flier MMM/Nov17/ntradeebb.

This offer is for:

No risk trial offer.

5 issues for £5

After 5 issues, if you don’t want to receive any more, there will be nothing further to pay.

Please confirm this agreement.

Thank you.

Their reply was:

Hello Rob

That is correct, all you need to do is let us know via letter, phone or email that you wish to cancel and we will make the necessary changes.

This will need to be done before the next direct debit claim which will be detailed on your welcome letter.

Regards

Collette

Ive resurrected this thread :) Too early to tell yet how good it actually is but I bought this power bank on offer last week for £20.99. I see its gone back up to £25. It arrived yesterday and today I noticed a label on the unit which says like and comment, follow onFB and they will send another one FOC. I did just that and promptly received a message to say Thanks my free one will be shipped today ...so 2 for the price of one. (y)

Haha no wonder the reviews were all good which led me to purchase it.
