Hi,

Have any of you replaced the Reich Ceramic Cartridge (35mm), with the exact same brand but with a different coloured gasket.

Ours has a red gasket on the back, but the replacement I have is blue. The cartridge looks almost identical but the pattern on the gasket is slightly (a millimeter at most) different.

Interested if any of you have interchanged them without issue?

Does it operate in the same way?

Red often opens opens with right turn and blue opens with left turn if that makes sense. So open closed is the opposite with red-blue.

Changed our shower mixer cartridge very recently, old one had Blue Gaskets, new one has Blue Gaskets so the same really, but the van is fairly new.
Hope you dont have a problem with the Black plastic lock nut as they are not available as a spare part, so stupidly, in that instance the whole tap would need replacing.
Yes I did try many specialist tap places but none of them had a replacement metal or plastic lock nut the same size as The Reich Mixer body.
Good luck with the replacement, Reich advice was to replace cartridge lining it up with rear lugs, then screw in lock nut by hand as tight as you can, then a final quarter turn with long nosed pliers, as you will not find a box spanner that fits inside between the lock nut and mixer body.
If anyone finds a metal lock nut that fits Reich shower mixers please let me know.

Hi,

Just tried it anyway (the gaskets look the same but they are not quite the same. The red has 3 circles and the blue has 2 circles and an arch).

But it seems to be holding water tight thus far
