Just fitted a Victron Energy “Smart Battery Sense “ battery monitor.

Have two lithium batteries. the red lead is fitted To the positive on
one of the batteries and black to the minus on the other.

VE instructions only state the following:-

blue led blinking fast, red led blinking fast, which both of mine are.

Their instruction gives two answers “ firmware update” and “not connected “. But does not give any answer as how to correct the problem.


Hope some one will be able to help me. But please note me and computers do not get on well.!

Can you connect to the Smart Sense through the Victron connect app on your phone?

I think it is telling you its not connected via Bluetooth to any other device, and if it's the first time connected to the battery perhaps it wants to check for a firmware update.

Once you have it showing on Victron Connect you can set up a "Smart Network" between the SmartSense, and a shunt/mppt etc.
