Rates are getting better for us, but I have my own ways of getting currency at good rates. My last lot of cash was at 1.30 euro to the pound.
I was on an aircraft, en route to the UK. The trolley was coming round and people were invited to pay in Euro, the rate was 1.67!!!!! So, £10 for 16.70 euro. The lass next to me was going to pay for things, but I said I'd give her a tenner for 13 euro, so she saved 3.70. We swapped loads, her, her mates, other people etc. What could Thomson do? open the door and ask me to leave?
I had my ears open this morning on the ferry. I'm not worried about approaching someone and buying their Euro at a mid rate - so we both gain.
