After reading on here about weight limits on motorhomes and anyone passing there test after 1997 which means you cannot drive anything over 3.5 tones without taking further test does this mean in the future the sales of motorhomes over 3.5 tones will disappear? Also you cannot tow so will caravans sales be effected?

Don't think so, know a young lad and his fiance who are both is doing the driving Tests so that they can tow their caravan. Both of them have B licence and she is driving instructor.

Interestingly the driving licence laws are different in the Republic of Ireland (only discovered this last year) as I thought that the same grandfather rules would have applied. We were discussing motor homing with my cousin who has been driving with a full licence since 1975 or thereabouts. When the subject of the weight of our mh came up he said that he couldn't drive it as only has a B licence. Right enough his photo licence only had B with the date he passed years ago.
