Can anyone help. We are on holiday and all day our fridge has been sounding an alarm. After looking through various manuals it appears to be something to do with the door catch. Have tried all sorts to stop it but nothing works. Our fridge is working fine on all settings and still really cold. Was bleeping whilst travelling yesterday but was fine once hooked up. Started beeping when not hooked up today and travelling. Hooked up again but still beeping. Help!

just looked at the operating instructions and no mention of a beeper for any faults are you certain it is the fridge and not a relay buzzing?

I've never heard of there being an alarm on a fridge door before, but I don't have your particular fridge. However, from what you've said it appears to be something to do with your 12v system - the suggestion of a relay alarm makes sense and/or perhaps a fuse in the 12v lead between the engine and your fridge has blown?

I've just had a quick shuftie at the below manual and if you have the AES model, rather than the MES model (with LED display), then there is an acoustic alarm which sounds:

http://www.dometicmanuals.com/PROD/...nAgent&IDDOC=C1256FFD00301FCFC12575810032AAE5

  • Refrigerators with an electronics system (MES, AES) indicate the occurence of a malfunction by the LED or display flashing.
  • If a malfunction occurs, the indicator LED "Failure" (1) flashes simultaneously. In the case of AES models an acoustic alarm sounds.

So is anything showing on the display when the alarm is going off?

Did you ever find out what the cause of this problem was, We are having exactly the same problem and haven't had it fixed yet. One huy from a caravan shop told us that the whole fridge has to come out and that he believed the problem was the relay switch being stuck.
Apprecuate your help on this.

Try turning it OFF (long press of the power button) as you would for storage and then back on.
The AES sometimes gets stuck in a confused state and switching off seems to reset it.

regarding the door yes it will beep if it has not been closed fully or if the fridge has failed to acquire any form of energy.

Found out very embarrassingly that the alarm triangle on our AES fridge is also in fact a reset button!! Had to phone the dealers to find out
