We arrive at Santander at 5pm on the 9th January, we will be heading to beni. But I am thinking of camping up one or two hours from Santander. Has anyone got any suggestions to a reasonable over night stopover.

The open air zoo park Aire. Am having a senior moment at the minute, so cant remember the name. This is it though and just about an hour from Santander. Its also free.

Just looked at the video on you tube. It looks good, do you park in the general parking area as they said it is on quite a slope.

The photo I posted is from the Aire. Its as flat as you will get anywhere. The third van down is my old RMB and behind it is Smudgers gin palace.

We've used an airre on the outskirts of Pamplona for a couple of years now, in a little place called Berriozar, coords: 42.84158, -1.66735, details here Broken Link Removed

It was very quiet, very close to some supermarkets. It is a shade over 2 hours travelling at 60ish from Santander.

Just follow road Into to village past a few bars then you come to park entrance
Don't go down to entrance
car park is on right go through to bottom end and park around lake
There is a water tap and Elsan point
In morning go look over wall into the valley and spot the ephalumps

Cabarceno for me! Only a short drive from the Ferry. Intended staying for one night, stayed for five nights. Beautiful wild life park, takes a good day to wander through though. The free aire has water and a dump point, and a drinking water 'font'. Lakeside parking, and two minutes walk from the village. A wonderful place to unwind, travelling from, to to the ferry.

Think we will try Cabarceno when we sail in Feb, anybody help with directions from Santander ferry port please?
