MAN Motorhome Warranty: What Buyers Need to Know

Is Your MAN-Based Motorhome or Campervan Running Out of Warranty Without You Knowing?

If you've bought a new motorhome or campervan on a MAN base vehicle in the last couple of years, it's worth picking up the phone to your nearest MAN service centre and asking one simple question: when does my manufacturer's warranty actually expire?

The reason we ask is a story that's currently playing out on YouTube, where a van owner is documenting what happens when the answer turns out to be a lot sooner than anyone told him.

He bought a brand new Adria Twin 680 SLB from Brownhills Motor Homes in Newark in June 2025. Before signing on the dotted line, he asked about the warranty and was told he had three years MAN manufacturer's warranty. Standard stuff. Nothing to worry about.

Fast forward to March 2026. He contacts his local MAN service centre to book the first service and, almost as an aside, the service adviser mentions that his warranty is about to expire. In April. Which, given he only took delivery ten months ago, comes as something of a shock.

The problem is the supply chain. His van was built in Poland in early 2024, shipped to Slovenia where Adria carried out the campervan conversion, passed through Adria UK, sat in Brownhills' showroom, and eventually reached him some 13 to 14 months after it rolled off the production line. The warranty clock, it turns out, had been ticking the whole time.

MAN Motorhome Warranty may be shorter than you think

MAN's response, after nearly two weeks of calls and emails, has been to draw a distinction that nobody mentioned at point of sale: buy a plain MAN van in the UK and you get three years warranty; buy a converted campervan or motorhome on a MAN base and you get two years. His, having spent so long in the supply chain, has already burned through most of that.

The difficulty with that position is that MAN's own UK marketing material and terms and conditions state three years unlimited mileage warranty. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described. MAN appear to be aware of this tension, because their current advice to him is to pursue the dealer, Brownhills, under that very Act rather than dealing with it themselves.

Brownhills, to their credit, are trying to find a resolution through Adria UK. But at the time of writing, there's no firm outcome.

Whether this affects a handful of people or rather more is hard to say. What's certain is that if you're buying a new motorhome or campervan on a MAN chassis or panel van, it's worth asking the dealer to confirm the warranty start and end dates in writing before you hand over your money. And if you've bought one recently and haven't checked, it takes two minutes to call your local MAN service centre and ask them to look it up. This is being discussed on our forums here

We'll keep an eye on how this one develops.
