Bought a 2nd hand 590 lm.
I seem to remember it will only charge up one way, but I cannot remember if it was in the cradle or via the USB lead..

Yes I can charge mine using a multi plug usb charger, I use the same cable in my kindle.

Left it over night and the battery is slowly coming back to life...

Yep ... fully discharged, but it is slowly coming back to life..
Just upgrading it to a 595
