Bit of advice please on how to remove and replace my Vadi lock on my 2011 Pilote motorhome. I bought a new zadi barrel and removal key. Read the instructions on the net and on here. All looks straight forward. Not for me it's not.

I saw the guide published on here by Techno May 2016. He is no longer with us RIP.

The thread is
'ZADI / Vecam, lock barrel replacement guide (Rapido)'

I think I am stumbling over the spring return ie unlock by quarter turn anticlockwise but together the key out it returns to neutral position the extraction key then doesn't eject the lock as expected
Could it be my lock is secured by spring clip etc and I need to remove the handles from the door to access it.
Before I do this just wondering if anyone has advice on my setup.
My door handle is Vadi basic.
Thanks
Chris

I think you will find that there will be a circlip on the back of the barrel on that type of fitting.
You will need access to the rear of the barrel

I use my phone to photograph each step so I can reference to the photos to make sure it’s reassembled correctly especially if a spring decides to eject in the process 🫣

I have the same lock mech. Mine comes out fine with the red removal key but I am sure I had to hold with long nose pliers to stop it springing back. Definitely didn’t need to remove a spring clip or disassemble any of it

Does the lock removal key work even if the lock is in the locked position? If so it's a theives dream!
