Off to Ypres end of February, where can we stay for a couple of nights ? as near to the town and M/Gate. Thanks.

There is a site walking distance from the Gate. Jegdustaion ? About 16 euros when I last used it. Hook. Up of course and you can cycle the battlefield route from there . Good value

Camping Jeugdstation, as above, but you should book in advance, online, it’s very popular for good reason

Or the Aire at Zillebeke 8902, space for about 15 vans, an easy 20 min walk into Ypres.
Or, drive past the Aire on your right and continue to the end of the track where there is free parking by the lakeside.

We have used the Aire at Camping Jeugdstation this year and there were only a few MH, six at most, on site.

We did book in advance at €15 a night and after battling with the Automatic check-in machine at the Reception area found it was a very peaceful and convenient place to stay and a short walk from the Menin Gate and town centre.

We also stayed at the newer Aire at Zillebeke last year and it costs €8 a night with a maximum of 48 hours – longer than that and you get your credit card charged €48.

As said - the lane down the side of the Zillebeke Aire leads to a 'fishermans' car park which can be used if you're desperate but no hook-up.

You can over night at the big carpark next to the swimming pool. 5 mins walk into town.

Here's a useful map

We parked here for the night. Plenty of others and not as noisy as one might think and (shock horror for me) It was free. 5 mins to town 10 to gate. 50.84435, 2.879827

The newish official Aire is about 3km out of town usually full as it is next to a small fishing lake.
We stayed in the carpark next to the new sports centre. A very nice Gendarm told us the next morning we can park all day but not overnight, he knew we had been there overnight but out of season they don't mind
