Many, many likes but especially:

It's a VW base vehicle.
Size - it can be parked in a normal carpark space.
L-shaped lounge - gives lots of floor space for the dogs (when they're not on the sofa!)
Large overcab for storing instruments, lights, speakers etc for festivals/funster meets.
Position of bathroom means you can make a dressing area at the back complete with heater.
Cheap to insure - just £95 this year fully comp :roflmto:
30+ mpg

Dislikes:
Making the bed's a bit of a faff but that's Barrie's fault for not liking to sleep in the overcab :roflmto:

1997 Kon-Tiki 650

Likes:
Huge rear bathroom with large shower.
Good oven, with 4 ring hob.
Sleeps 5, or 6 at a push.
Very snug in cold weather.
Fun to drive.

Dislikes:
Rear belted seats uncomfortable on long drives.
Having to make up (dinette) double bed at night when half (or entirely) pi##ed.
Different levels of hab’ floor and cab floor.
External storage access door too small
Front wheel drive. (only because of traction on wet ground).

Would I get another one?

I think that if it is still good and rot free in a years’ time I will refurbish and reupholster.
I might even re jig the layout.

VW engine,
Build quality ,wood not plastic
Gas / electric heating and hot water
Full size cooker
It is very comfortable
No hassle to make the beds
Lovely to drive
Economical 35-37mpg
Right size for an everyday vehicle
Light inside, large windows
I love it

Don`t like

Manual window winders
Not central locking
Shower in with toilet ,but no other way round that, considering the size, I can manage with it

Would I buy this model again, definitely, they are not made now though, so I will keep this one.:thumb:

2010 Chausson Flash S2 - 3,500kg - 6m - 2.3lt

Like almost everything, especially:

  • Compact external size, tardis-like inside
  • Innovative (and unique) semi-fixed bed
  • Huge bathroom / dressing room
  • Masses of storage & plenty of load capacity within weight limit
  • Comfy car-like drive with A/C and cruise
  • 6-speed gearbox
Dislike:

  • No spare wheel, or anywhere sensible to fit one
  • Gas cupboard only big enough for one bottle
Would we buy another? In a heartbeat, if we could get an auto gearbox. :thumb:

Slippy rear seats. ( more Velcro needed )

7 years campers before that
seeing as i built it my self id have to say there were no cons but in a six metre pvc theres always some compromise ours was to give up entertaining space for a fixed bed we can seat four inside for a drink but its tight and one gets a folding chair in the gangway but we couldnt face another fold up bed to be made every night

As one who is about to embark on their first MH adventure and being persuaded to consider a used vehicle, I'm very pleasantly surprised at how many have older ones... and how tolerant you are of their compromises & limitations.

Dislike
Heater is at the back under bed so can get warm there before rest of MH is warm.
The fact I haven't been away in it for two months now due to house move and work commitments.

Likes:
Large shower, WC and dressing area
Big enough to swing a cat, high payload and enough storage
Twin camera - reversing and driving (although I did re-engineer this)

Dislikes:
The gas drop out by the entrance allows water spray to come in from the wheel  - pending DIY alteration.
Everything else I disliked I have changed, altered or replaced.

Size.. Sleeps 7 but also seats ( comfortable and with table space for ) 6
Fixed beds at both ends ( bunk beds ACROSS the back so little space wasted ) and double over head
Overhead space tall enough to sit up in
Shower space HUGE.. even a fat boy like me has plenty of room
Water system has plenty of power and the water heater is both gas and mains
Base van is really nice to drive
Automatic three way fridge
Large garage area
Gas locker big enough for two large bottles

Roof is one piece plastic that goes right from underneath the front overhead to about a foot down the rear wall. Only joins being on the very edges

Agin

Rare as a rare thing ( to say the least ) so god forbid I need any parts I will almost certainly not find them
MPG ( about 24-25 on a long slow run, but that can go down to 18 if I get a shuffle on or am towing something heavy

Likes:
  • Layout - works perfectly for us with 2 separate living areas as we have a front dinette/lounge and rear transverse bed/lounge (although we leave it as a bed) so that hubby can do his planning etc in the front whilst I do my puzzle book slobbing out on the bed! ::bigsmile:
  • Lots of storage - more than we need and that is saying something as we take loads with us!
  • Window at foot end of bed - we can look at the outside world whilst having our morning cuppa ... great when there's a lovely view too! The dogs would add that they love the opening windows in the rear doors as they like to stick their noses out in a morning to see what sort of day it's likely to be!
  • Big side sliding door - lovely feeling of space when open.
  • Opening rear doors - lovely to slob on the bed on a sunny day with them wide open.
  • Ambiance - feels much more open than our previous coachbuilt MHs did despite being smaller.

Dislikes:
  • Toilet - too high so legs dangle (I rest them on a container we have in there)
  • Smev grill - useless, but I suppose does make a good frying pan store!
  • Truma control - located under the rear bed so prone to being damaged and unable to read the dials (now moved to side of wardrobe where it should have been in the first place! )
  • Kitchen tap - located under sink cover which is daft as need to use cover as worktop ... so instead use washroom tap for water when cooking!
  • Cab floor between seats - no support so spongy and cracked on edge, done a fix but still not perfect
  • Front Table - too big so replaced with home-made one which is perfect.:thumb:
  • Washroom tambour door - too wide and partially blocked opening, took a section out

Would I buy another? - Yes! Seen some nice coachbuilts which we could be tempted with but NOTHING beats the feeling of space and being part of the outside world with having the big opening doors ... nothing! :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Likes:
Considering its size there is adequate space for two people and a dog.
The rear lounge seats are a good size to use as 2 single beds.
The Fiat multijet 130 engine seems very lively and pulls well.

Dislikes:
60 litre fuel tank. I realise there would be no room for a bigger tank but it seems I'm always looking for the next fuel stop.
Poor Swift build quality: missing hab/chassis bolts :Eeek:
Poor roof sealing leading to water ingress.
First washroom door badly warped, fly screen broken and it goes on..........

General build quality poor.
Shower area very tight and pull out shower head not fit for purpose (I completely overhauled the plumbing system)

Would I buy another one : no nay never !!!!
