Good evening gents (and any beer loving ladies out there). :)

If you like your Leffe Blonde, I am finishing off the last of this wee number I picked up from Lidl at Cite Europe, which is a close contender and reasonably priced. (y) Very nice indeed. :drink:

It came as a 6 x pack of stubbies, although other size bottles may be available.

Cheers :drink:

Jock. :)

Enjoyed the Perlenbacher and their Wheetbeer is very good.

Here's a little gem I too found in Lidl's, but not in the beer section. ;)

It is on a par with my Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild, ie, excellent, moreish, and pleasantly deceiving. (y) It is not a stout, but more a strong dark ale. :)

Cheers,

Jock. :drink:

Ralph, the Brown Ale and the Porter would have been my choices. :)

Glad that you enjoyed your day out at the brewery. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Had some good beers on our recent trip to France, over the years the French beers have got better and better, here are some just from one brewery.

Currently in my homeland, where compared to South of the border, cask ales can be a bit of a rarity. :(

at the moment, which suits my sweeter palate, and is definitely better than the Belhaven Best and McEwan's 70/- I have had to consume. :(

Cheers :drink:

With interest in the last Roundhill Brewery blog, I have looked back and picked out the following beers by them from older blogs.

Found a beer in Bridport this week called stubborn bastard @ 7% abv!
I just love some of the names of beers  and I'd love to try that one Christoph. ;)

Ralph, I really liked the description of some of the beers listed from your Roundhill Brewery trip. (y)

Cheers :drink:

Had a new Spaten beer from Germany last week and realised that I had not mentioned them before.

It was only after I bought these that I discovered that they were from India, what was even more surprising was that that were not bad at all.

We had an ale on at our local called, Raisins to be fearful.

It was a fruity smokey ale, and on the initial taste, I wasn't overly taken by it :( but after the third sip, I was hooked. ;)
It was one of those very pleasantly satisfying ales, with a slight sweetness that I like.................................but boy was it deceptive, ie, although not a strong flavoured ale, it clearly had a kick. (Yes, I know, the clue was clearly visible in the ABV  ).
The barrel didn't last long, which wasn't in any way attributed to my paltry 1.5 pints consumption of it. ;) I just new that to have consumed more, would have landed me in some bother.

Cheers,

Jock. :)
