Lovely job new sun visor (Black strip) and Frankia Sign made up by Eddie of Fencehouse gge Great job, great mechanic in ALL aspects of motorhome repairs and accessories including base chassis and habitation area. Old school mechanic nothing to much of a problem and can fix or repair/replace anything on a motorhome or camper. Including full servicing and Mot on site
Probably the best Mh mechanic I’ve ever come across with the mentality of nothing is impossible and everything is possible
Best 200 miles I’ve ever traveled to have work done on my mh

You're right, you won't be missed (y)
Edit : is it a paid promotion ?
No, no paid promotion, I just like to tell others when I find a good all round mechanic that can fix anything motorhome related, not like some of these so called technicians nowadays who only can see what’s wrong on a computer and if computer don’t tell them they are stumped and then it costs the motorhome owner loads of money to fix there problems.
Just nice to be able to give someone credit where it’s due and for others to know it’s there for them too

I may be wrong, but was the question re 'paid promotion' to do with the sun visor, not the service?

It's quite depressing to see that with the Queen's 70th Anniversary celebrations coming up, that our nation's flag still can't be flown correctly. Or does it not matter anymore and I'm too OCD?

No, it just shows the mentality of many of the people who fly it.

Be even more cool if your name was Frank

My sentiments exactly. It’s a great shame too many don’t fly the Union Flag the right way up.

It matters to me and I noticed it too. It's amazing how often I have to quietly let people know their flags are upside down - even a motorway services manager once, though to give him his due when I passed again later in the day it was being flown correctly.

I think you two need to give people a break. I wasn't even aware there was a right way up until I read about it on here a few year ago. I suspect it is not a case of the mentality or the laziness or anything else. It is just that they don't know.

Even now I know there is a right way or a wrong way, I don't know which is which and can't tell. Sorry.

The thing is these people are showing they care by flying the flag. Why criticise and be nasty to them for their good intentions?

It matters, and a little OCD goes a long way, nowt wrong wi' that.
For Grommett, the thicker of the two white stripes should have its lower end against the staff (flagpole).
Nobody knows everything, and every day is a school day, but what winds me up is the celebration of ignorance - some people (none here) wear it like a badge of honour.

It matters
Really? In the grand scheme of things? I think we should be celebrating the fact that these people put the effort into putting up the flag when so many are trying to pull the country down. A minor (But irritating to some) error should not take away from their efforts and celebration.

No one will die with the flag being upside down, no one will lose their house, their livelyhood or their loved ones. I would suggest that those who have it upside down don't actually know. Those that have it the right way up either got 50/50 lucky or know. so how about give them a break and just accept the fact that more than likely they don't even know and it is not down to laziness or maliciousness.

I got a PM on the topic and part of my reply I thought was worth repeating here.

My view is... If you know which way it should be and then hang it upside down, then you are a heathen and should be birched within an inch of your life.
If you don't know any better, then who gives a stuff? :D

It might be, but if half the world doesn't know it is upside down, it's a poor distress signal :D
It's worse than that Jim. More than half this country doesn't know it is upside down.

It's flown wrong more often than not. I've put a few people right about the flag over the years, Seems it's not a flag, or a distress signal, rather it's a pedant catcher. '\

I don't think anyone has said it's laziness or maliciousness, it's just not knowing i.e. simple ignorance. Illustrative of the alarming lack of general knowledge among the population, more especially youngsters. Ten seconds with google produced this:-
'To deliberately fly the flag upside down is a signal indicating a situation of 'DISTRESS'. It is also "lese Majeste" (which means: insulting the Crown), and is theoretically still a crime in the UK and its commonwealth!'
