Will be visiting my son and family in Topcliffe next month and enjoyed watching Countrywise based on Yorkshire on TV tonight. Does anyone out there know if Castle Howard is open to the public as wiffie would love to visit it (So would I)

So pleased you posted this as we are looking for an overnight stop enroute to Derwent Water at the beginning of July and this looks just what we are looking for.

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
We also have stayed and visited. Lovely spot and site . Nice walks too.
Only downside is that its another place that charges per person , dog , canopy or awning. So its just under £30 per night for us. We didn't mind paying it when we were tuggers , as we used more of the facilities. Ideal spot if you want to visit the house though.

The C&CC have a nice site at Slingsby, just a few miles away, may be cheaper for you.
