Looking for somewhere to park for a few hours during the day while we visit York.
Don't mind using the bus to get into the city.

Use the park and ride . Best option . 👍

Rawcliffe Bar if driving from the West would be the first choice for me.
Apologies for not being able to do link thingies
Edit, Park and Ride .

Thanks everyone. We're at Boroughbridge so fancy a few hours in York on Monday.
Looked at Rowntree Park but they wanted £167.60 for 4 nights.
£65 at Boroughbridge.

The link in my post has details of all the York P&Rs.
Enjoy your time in York.👍

You can park at the knavesmire (racecourse) and walk but you have to be early, its the long road that takes you to the actual racecourse stands …… ive never parked there but have seen plenty of motorhomes parked up ……pampam

Obviously managed not to spend up in Keswick, going to give York a try.....have a good day out.

We stayed in Bleakhouse farm 3 weeks ago , bit basic but £10 a night ,3.5km miles from centre , we got the bus at the university , I will go again when it’s not so busy ( Christmas)

Still got a bit left Norman.
Shrewsbury is looking doubtful so thought we'd have a few days before Christmas.

Yes York CAMC is pricey but its very convenient, you can walk into the center in 10 minutes and no worries on time and eating out if you drink. Its well run and very clean. Just check on the route, it has changed due to flood barrier works on the riverside so old way in/out has totally changed.

We have stayed on the site at the Lysander Arms at Rawclife north of York for the Christmas market. It’s a small site attached to the pub. It’s an easy walk to the park and ride or the retail park.

Just got back from York. Parked at Rawcliffe Bar park and ride. 10 minutes on the bus. £6.60 for the 2 of us.
Thing that annoys me is 11 dedicated motorhome spaces and cars parked in 6 of them. Makes my blood boil.
Thanks again for all the suggestions.
