Evening all.
We are an early retired couple that have just bought our first ever motorhome !
Its a 2014 bailey advantage 750 ,chosen because it has a garage to put a (very small) motorbike in and because it has some payload at 3850 kg.
We also have a yacht in greece where we spend about four to five months a year in two separate chunks (before and after high season) So we thought that we could buy a motorhome and drive there and back and get an extra holiday experience each way .
We have done the trip a few times by car.
I’m a very early retired mechanic, mot tester and garage owner and enjoy fixing things.
The boss is a mental health nurse.
We envisage having a great many questions for you all so be gentle please !
All the best
Paul and Anthea

What a fabulous picture you paint of your retirement life :)

I am sure with your background the questions and answers will be two - way.
One problem might be getting insurance for your MH whilst you are off on your yacht, mostly they stipulate no more than 48 hours unattended unless in the stated non-use location (your garage or driveway or where ever agreed). You might have to do more day sailing.

Good point re the insurance, we can leave it in the yard where we keep the boat when we aren't sailing.
The MH will be safe enough as regards theft as there are millions and millions of euros worth of boats in there and the place has full security including guard dogs etc.
No one could drive it out as there is a barrier with a watchman on it.
I'll get that storage location added to the insurance just to be safe though.

When we are away our daughters look after our house (by living in it !)
New to motorhoming but not totally green !
We are finding motorhoming easier in some ways than yachting though, at least we don’t have to anchor the bailey and row ashore when we park it and no matter how leaky it might become it won’t actually sink !

Oh dear welcome to the mad house. Just ask away. It might not always be helpful. So be careful how you ask LOL:D(y)

Thanks to you all and good morning from a wet and windy carpark in Hay on Wye !
So far our shake down cruise in the MH is going ok, everything seems to work and very little has been found to be broken.
(Despite the flimsiness of motorhome internal fittings compared to what we are used to on boats (where what they weigh doesn’t matter))
Off to France and then Spain in the new year (snow chains being delivered today hopefully)
