Hi Si,

I was looking at getting a Kipor IG2600 but feel a little uneasy due to bad dealer after care and the reliability of the machine. I have saved the money up but dont want to get stiffed.

What would you reccomend at present

In fairness to solar panels they are good when the weather is there! To be honest I would look at a Planet. It is a brand made for us that we are building up. They come with a 2 year warranty too which is handy!
You would get a special price too as a fellow motorhome funster!
Give me a call for more info, I am in the office all night - again!

Hi John, it is a pure sinewave. If ever you see Planet at the shows (usually with motorama or MTC then you will see chargers and laptops all plugged straight into the Generator, shows we have faith!
Someone that sells Kipor at the shows today made me laugh today on the phone, I asked him if he was having power at the show. He said no, as the Generators are too b****y noisy!
Did make me chuckle!

Hi Mark, I understand completely. I am quite lucky in the fact mine works for me (In English she tells me what to do!)
It is a suitcase type, open frames are too noisy!
Ckeck out the site if you want, lots on there.

A bit of a silly question I think; but where do you store a 28kg gennie? Also, according to HSE guidelines, the upper weight limit for a one-person lift is 25kg :whatthe:

This won't stop me eventually buying a gennie but the weight factor isn't something I'd thought about until now:Blush:

In fairness its a good point, yes 18kg is more than a one man lift. Problem is almost all Generators - eg Planet 3 - 28kg, Kipor 2600 - 28kg, Honda eu26i - 61kg! The 3's in any family are heavier. I suppose when I lug one round I am breaking a law?
Common sense is required. If injury is going to be caused through lifting it then dont!
I will ask Muscles, (Muscles is our delivery man at the shows, anyone that has seen us at a show will see him wizzing round with a trolley and lots of Generators!) He seems fine!
In terms of storage - you can store in Lockers, Dad stores his in the bathroom, under the bed, even in a corner of the van. Providing the Fuel cap valve and the main fuel valve are switched of then you have aa secure air tight Petrol carrier. We tend to have about 60 Planets in the Planet Show Van every week. I wouldnt get in the van if the fuel was not secure!
