Parked up in the delightful but quite compact aire at La Roque-Gageac in the Dordogne the other week we witnessed a sight to warm the cockles of our hearts:
A particularly attentive Police Municipale officer slapping parking tickets on the windscreens of cars parked in the clearly-signposted MH parking area. The looks of indignant Gallic outrage on the faces of the returning car owners made it all the more funny, especially as we'd seen a few MHs having to divert elsewhere because they couldn't claim what was rightfully theirs.
Even better - two cars got tickets for parking in an odd-shaped end spot that wasn't even a marked MH bay, but when a MH squeezed in at a funny angle they were allowed to do so.
Maybe Monsieur Police Municipale was a Camping-Cariste?
