How important are the yearly checks.
I can see that my no damp guarantee would need a yearly check but after 1 year there is no other guarantee what’s the point.
Does it make a difference for resale, are you that bothered and are you only interested in the damp levels.
Just our Moho will be 1 year old next March and I would like opinions please.
Be nice.

To some ,not very important at all,but to me it’s very important both from a reliability and a warranty point of view.I get a full habitation check and a full Vechicle service every rear and I believe that this minimises breakdowns and things going wrong. The way I look at is you spend a lot of money on your Motorhome so you have got to look after it.
If you had a static holiday home I’m sure you would spend money on it’s upkeep,to me it’s the same with your Motorhome.Money well spent in my eyes.

The gas system ,Alde heating ,the electrical system, the fridge and cooker .Most warranties insist on an annual habitation check to keep the warranty active .Im in no way a DIYer So definitely would not do it myself especially the gas system .For me it’s peace of mind.

I get the habitation checks done at the same time as the annual service, even though there is no requirement for the former or need for the latter. We use our m/h quite a lot and as it is now starting to get on a bit I welcome the attention of an experienced technician who would probably spot something long before it actually fails. All my vehicles have a service at MoT time as well, even though the cars only do 1500 - 2000 miles per year.

For me, peace of mind.

The checks during the warranty period are essential. After that don't bother unless you suspect you have a damp issue (which you can check yourself and that also applies to the gas system). IMO the only other time you would want a habitation check is if and when you are going to sell the motorhome. Over the years, Habitation checks have turned into a rip off with prices more than doubling in the last 5 years.

Inclined to agree, BUT::::::: check the small print on your insurance policy. The insurer may require service and hab stamps annually.
