Trev, weather is absolutely beautiful, sitting having breakfast in the sunshine, had Xmas day lunch outside yesterday. All feels v Covid safe, just about everyone wearing masks.

It’s in the North of the Island, so not as hot. It’s beautifully green though, situated right next to the Botanic gardens. Hotel and staff are first class, great food and good restaurants nearby. Would recommend but only if your ok with north of Island.

Ive never been to tenerife and went week before xmas to costa adeje, the weather was lovely, it was lots nice than i thought ,felt safer there than here covid wise :)

Hi, just to finish this off, a quick update on the Covid regulations to holiday in Tenerife and how it worked out in practice. To get in you have to be double vaccinated. Forms were straightforward, an online Spanish health form which was inspected at the airport along with our vaccination certificate. We flew with Jet2, all easy and felt v safe, they had strict Covid rules on board. On arrival in Tenerife, airport was hugely busy, long queue for passport control, automated machine for passport, then another queue to have passport stamped, then another queue to have health status checked, sounds worse that it was.

Coming back a bit more nerve wracking, we had taken Livingwell LFT tests with us to do the pre departure 2 day test, this is straightforward, do the test, upload picture of test result and your passport and your preflight certificate was returned in 20 mins. However if the test was positive, your stuffed! No flight, no re-entry and you need to follow instructions from health authorities. We had taken lft tests beforehand to ensure all was well so we we’re confident of result before we took it.

For return journey, Pre flight certificate, passenger locator form, vaccination status were all checked at Jet2 checkin, you then queued to get passport stamped back out and that was it, all quick and easy. At Edinburgh, automated passport readers did the check and we just walked through, no manual intervention. Just back from our day 2 PCR tests and now isolating till we get the results.

Was it worth it? For us yes, really needed some sunshine! Paperwork is a bit stressful, especially the pre entry test, feels a very unfair additional step, but other than that straightforward. Jet2 and hotel all had great Covid protocols and felt safe, airports less so, lots of queueing with no social distancing, transported by crowded bus which made a joke of all other controls! For costs of tests , not too bad, PCR c£70 each and LFT c£30 each , so a couple of hundred extra on holiday costs.

But all in all, a fantastic holiday! Again thanks to all for the recommendation.
