Our rear mounted cycle carrier means lifting our bikes to head height and as we get older this is becoming a challenge. Cycle carrier has a lower mounting point which reduces the lift considerably but means we partially obstruct rear lights so I need a lighting board.

Question - I cannot see readily available electrics so that I can fit a socket to accept the lighting board plug. Can anyone let me know their experience? Is there a simple way to fit a socket?

If you purchase your female plug from any outdoor caravan shop etc, you will find it is attached to a length of cable, with full instructions. You will also require a number of scotch locks for connecting to system. or Go to a tow bar specialist for connection.

the X-250 is on canbus electrics so you will need a 7 way bypass relay to avoid problems with the canbus system any towbar fitting place will be able to supply you the stuff you need

you may also find a plastic joint box fixed to the rear chassis, if the lighting wires have been extended.....which they probably have.

this is a good point to fit the new wiring loom and relay.

Thank you all. I'll get an auto electrician to fit I think. The Canbus issue had not occurred to me:Doh:
