If you were down here, you'd be out there like a shot. It's quite balmy here Andy. Rita has just gone to hang the washing out, wearing a short sleeved top. Thanks Jock
Text says delivery within the hour. Now the dilemma , do I go out in the freezing cold or leave it

Yep most are like that . My car is but only takes a few seconds to remove the A/C belt..
If Aircon is fitted the crankshaft will carry a double pulley and the 4 rib stretch belt for the compressor will be nearest and impede removal of the alternator belt.

& yes car is same to the extent that KIA state " drop engine, gearbox on subframe" to do the cam belt . The A/C belt is below the chassis rails but the auxiliary belt is a remove wheel, inner splash panel, lower panel & then with spanner on the auto-tensioner nut it is all done by feel ,basically.Only in that its all barely an inch away from the chassis rails
Careful Andy, the new alternator will soon be out of warranty before it gets fitted.I've still not gotten around to fixing this yet
The weather has either been wintry or I've had more pressing things to do
First wind rain and snow free day and it may get sorted

it is possible that had i fitted it then the alterator may have survivied but will never know. it get get very hot as the windings are burnt. I hope all now goes well for you and have a happy and safe trip.
PS thank-you for some of the must useful advice during the year.
Thanks Steve
I think it unlikely that a low power B2B would be the problem with or without an alternator temp sensor.
My original was 50 amp and the new one 60 amp which should be a doddle for a 110amp alternator.
The best solution when one finally fails is to go straight to 150amp if compatible.
MAE prices are gobsmackingly cheap
