Concerned about the condition of this item and keen to get it off and give it some extra paint etc to avoid bigger problem later.
Do I need to remove the front bumper? if so how? and are those bolts stupidly tight?
Someone must have been there before me!

You will find patern parts available that are much more affordable, BUT, also not the same quality or strength.

Don’t ask how I know this ?????

many many years! since I was a kid
buy a new one and give it a couple of coats of hammerite paint before starting to undo the bolts on the rotted one. no need to drop the bumper by the way. remember eye protection if doing it laying on your back
