Wow, ferry prices 🤬

We booked a ferry in 2019
It's been moved on several times since.
It's currently set for May 2022
Luckily still at the 2019 'early bird winter discount' price

If only I'd known about the 2020-2021 Zombie Apocalypse, I'd have booked a few more !

Just tried to book a ferry to Bilbao in September, wow have they gone up £947 one way .So have resorted to the tunnel @£140 one way ,I know it’s a lot more driving and expense but £947 come on really 🤷‍♂️
Was that early September, when I checked a few weeks ago there was a noticeable drop in the middle of September

Just had a email off Ryan air , almost anywhere £5 end of July.
Once you add on all the 'extras' it will be much more than £5

Extra's being anything other than your body

Ha ha very true , we still have a booking from last year a return for jan 2022 from Portsmouth to Bilbao at only £400 more than a single this year 🤷‍♂️

5 quid for a trip on there new Boeing 737 Max NO THANKS:rolleyes:
Wasn't recommending it for anyone, just pointing out the difference in price.
We happen to love Ryanair, but I think this is one we will pass on.
Not the covid, just all the testing and quarantine rubbish I couldn't do with.

I priced a 2 quid ryanair a month ago..after adding a bag..the choosing a seat etc...85quid...same old same old..
As for the ferry cost ...supply and demand I'm afraid. It's called the economy...shame tho

Is Ryanair paying £85 per passenger or is that per booking?

That was just me. And if you wanted to add food and the other extras obvs more.

I dont have a problem with it but wish the actual cost would be more accurate

Long story I have told on here many times, made short.
When my wife died in 2008 I booked a Ryanair flight to faro to go to stay with my friend who had also lost his wife.
Anyway never been on a plane on my own before but thought for a tenner return I would give it a go.
Well gets on the plane no problems, so think I will have a cheese sandwich and a packet of crisps and a coffee to pass the time as much anything,
Unbelievable but true my meal cost me £2 more than the return flights.
But I will always be grateful to Ryanair for getting me out after being on my own

P and O ferries Dover to Calais now double from 2019. Around £120 one way during July for Motorhome over 7m in length.Crossing infrequent and only early morning to tea-time !!
Irish Ferries have put a ferry on that route, around £!0 cheaper. Any Motorhome over 2.25m in height and less than 8m same price.

It's pick and mix, you get what you pay for.
Don't have to choose a seat, not everyone needs to take much in the way of bags, we have always taken our own water and sandwiches though the baggage rules may make this difficult now
I don't like the airport/flying experience but sometimes it is necessary or more convenient and the prices of budget carriers have certainly made air travel available to many people who never flew before, including me.

2 adults 8m Motorhome £468

We’re booked 28th Dec return end of March. 8mtr Moho + 4mtr trailer, outside club cabin, £1048. The tickets don't make sense.

On the Dover Calais route, Irish Ferry's have two vessels P&O five.
Worthy of consideration

They're hoping for a lockdown so they can charge you £500 to come home early

In 2000 I flew to Schiphol with easyJet from Liverpool

Back then it was unalocated seats but you could buy priority access, I was alone so didn't care where I sat

When I got to the departure area I was laughing at the way it was set out , most of us were held back in a pen while a few at the front were let go to the plane which was parked on the tarmac

When they were ¾ of the way there they opened the gate and the rest started running , some made it to the plane before the priority bookers :ROFLMAO:

Strange now though the priority queue is getting bigger than the normal queue, and you already have your seat number wherever you go from, so we just wait till the rush has gone and walk on to our seat.

Never flown with them since , I can't see why you'd pay for priority if you have a seat allocated

I always thought it was a crazy policy , if there's an emergency you'd have people looking for their family rather than trying to get out

Im wondering how the Spanish ferries are going to work with testing. Cancellations are not unusual and it can be several days wait for next available so you would have to retest and redo locator forms?

Is there a testing facility for ferry passengers at Bilbao

I went to Majorca November 2016 for £2 there and £25 back , free 10kg bags and carry on bag, free allocated seats , Booked a hotel in Cala Rajada for £100 B&B so all told £154 for 2 for a week . Wont get that anymore.
