I have a 'cheap' smart phone - Samsung J3 on Virgin contract

Recently I cracked the screen and as it was a few years old decided to buy another phone

I bought another 'brand new' J3 for £80 with a payg Vodafone sim

It means I can use the 'spare' phone to charge a battery and as I just found out if I can't get a signal on one I can usually get a signal on the other.

I ALWAYS have (at least) two phones... currently a Note 8 and a Note 4.

The thought of not being able to communicate with my people is the stuff of my worst nightmare.

Maybe living the peaceful life of a (nearly) hermit in the hills of central Portugal make me feel this way.

JJ

Why not just have one phone with a dual sim? Swop over when you need to
Used to have my UK dim plus a Spanish one for local calls.

You are a late joiner Bb, I have had two phones in my man bag for many years and use them both every day. So many advantages over just having one. I have unlimited data on one and minimum data on the other both on Three contracts. If I need more data on the minimal data one then I just tether one to the other. It works fine for me and I am always available if I am taking a call on one phone.

I'm dead in the water without a phone so I always keep a spare.

I've just ordered one of these - high spec and cheap as chips.

Does anyone else have experience of them?

Yeah I have a Moto g7 power on unlimited vodaphone, and an old Samsung j5 on a 1p pay and go just for backup £10 every 4 months keeps it alive.

Me also, an Iphone mostly for work and a Samsung private and in some areas I get no signal in one and the other is strong

Having 2 phones with the same batteries means I can switch between the two and always have power to use either........I also have a new spare battery ! - £8...

I have one phone with dual spanish sims & a policemans phone.

It opens in a new tab for me

Oh !
I can't find a setting in Firefox 67 Linux to change this but Ctrl + Click opens a new tab.

I'm using Chromium right now and your link is just not recognised, show some form of "WTF is this" symbol.

Never mind, life is too short to worry any more about it.

Sorry, I wouldn’t have 2 phones!

No offence, but I laugh at people who slap 2 phones on the table when I go to business meetings etc.

Why bother dragging around extra pocket fillers etc.

I get it that a backup is useful, but that’s what my better half is for (amongst other things). And of course, I usually have a tablet with me on my trips (or a laptop) so can use that when if required.

Besides I panic enough with the thought of loosing my phone - I couldn’t begin to imagine the stress of carrying TWO phones about ?

Only if I had two men!

Mind you, if I think along those lines, I don't even need ONE, do I!!!!! They do come in handy occasionally. .......phones not men.

Once you’ve had one good man there’s no need for two ??

Bit off topic but both the women in my life have the same Christian names which has been handy apart from calling them by phone or them calling me, I solved it by putting an X in front of my Xs number which takes it to the other end of the directory so cant make a mistake and when they call me I can treat them with a confident "hello my darling" without upsetting the cart.;)

I always use two phones, one for buy, buy, buy and the other for sell, sell, sell.
That’s why God gave us two ears.

Yes
My “daily use” phone is a Galaxy S8 on contract with EE, 10gb pm and unlimited texts and calls.
While in the motor home we also use Paul’s old iphone 6s with a vodafone 100gb pm and unlimited everything else sim in it for downloading music, audio books, pod casts, FaceTiming the family, tethering iPads etc. We put this sim in the mifi when we’re on the boat.

Mr Plod uses this type round here, he must do, because he's never far from McDonald's

I would just like to give one advantage of a second phone, I use the camera on my Note 9 a great deal as it is such a good camera. Answering a call can bugger up a picture. ;) :)

I’ve got three phones,Duchess has three as well. Also the dogs got one,and the goldfish.

Like most of us, as a kid the phone was in a box down the road. Then we got posh as dad needed a phone for the business. Survived many years like that in fact. But then affordable mobiles came along. I found that i needed one for the business and one for family. Never really got out of that habbit. I give out one number to non family contacts, which I dont feel obliged to answer whilst on holiday. The family one is on 24/7 and has been essential

I have
One for people you like
One for people you don't like and internet accounts I must find where I left the latter one
