Hi, Just returned from 4 weeks in Europe, was supposed to be 8 weeks, but that's another story. We have never been to Barcelona before, so we thought we'd spend a couple of days in the city, and the Italian Aires book recommended the Aire 'Park and Ride' site at the Decathalon Forum. It was hell!! The smell was offensive, with rubbish strewn everywhere, the toilets were like sewers, as were the washrooms, the electric hook ups were dangerous, lying on the ground, with exposed wires, and the units were squeezed in tight enough to make getting in and out of the doors a problem. The noise at night was relentless, and sleeping was a problem. The so called 'security' men spent the night sleeping in their car!! To top it all off, the Barcelona leg of the Red Bull Air race was taking plase over the harbour, just a couple of hundred yards away on the day we arrived. Now, I'm a pilot, but the noise was unbearable after a couple of hours. The price for this stay?? 25 Euros a night , and not a bus in sight. We decided to up sticks, and went up the coast a few miles to Calella, where we found a beautiful beachside site, with a quick bus service into the city. Highly recommended. 'Park and Ride' in Barcelona is an Aire to avoid!!
