As I will be in the area I would like to go to the round of the World Superbikes at the Autodrome Algarve just outside Portimao. Can anyone tell me if they have been with motorhome before and what if any facilities are available. I have checked the website to no avail.

Any information grateful

Trevor

Hi Trevor,
Not been with the camper but stayed in an apartment there 3 years ago.
To be totally honest with you it isn't like anything you will have probably been to before.
It is a superb venue and a great track, but there are only covered grandstands on the main straight,it was high 30's when we went.
There are not many facilities, catering was OK but basic.
It is quite a long drive from Portimao and the coast.
Toilets etc. OK but World Supers weekend I would guess there were only 3-4 thousand there so a little lacking in atmosphere.
There are a few towns and villages dotted around nearby so maybe a search of sites nearby could work.
We took plenty of food and drink with us.A great weekend but not the norm.
Sorry if I was home in Portugal could have found out more from my PT friends, good luck.

Sorry I can't help. I guess it will be another boring round totally dominated by the Brits.

Staying in a lovely B&B at Scarlett, Castletown , IOM, learnt today that Johnny Rea lives in a big house just behind us, haven't seen him yet though.
