Heading to that area early / mid May for around 4-5 days...enjoy parking up, local safe walks to sights and pubs :) Fairly self sufficient for a few days but don't mind paying & prefer to hook up & enjoy nice facilities/views

Damage Barton's okay but a bit exposed in bad weather, there are several sites in the area. And a couple of pubs in walking distance.

A big thumbs up for Damage Barton. Just spent a couple of weeks there.

Little Shelfin Farm;

Mullacott Cross.

Smallish , open plan site, EHU and water on pitch. Nice toilet block.

A short walk to the pub at Mullacott Cross.

There are buses to Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Braunton, Croyde, Barnstaple, Lynton and Minehead.

Steep hills down into Woolacombe and Ilfracombe.

Also near Braunton, The Hidden Valley campsite.

We like Damage Barton, also North Morte Farm.

Looks like a nice casual place to stop, thanks we'll stick this on the map :)
Lovely 3? milw walk to Woolacombe on beach or through dunes. My aunt lived in Georgeham, lovely village just inland of Putsbourough and the surfintis better :giggle:

Thank you...its on the radar :)

Damage Barton is coning in highly recommended :)
It's a nice spot with a great view of the Bristol channel, however it's very exposed to wind especially Westerly's so if gales are forecast then probably not the best place to be. If gales are forecast then hidden valley is pretty sheltered.

Sometime ago we stayed during the day in the NT. car park in Woolacombe - those days £5 per day- and overnighted by the sea on the road free
It was I think, before April so sorry not very helpful! I should think the rules have changed. But I remember that trip fondly!

Also we’ve stayed in the Putsborough car park fir a couple of days- nights in the past
Dynamic Pricing ! So can get expensive
Beautiful place

Another for Damage Barton...The chippy at Morte Ho itself is brilliant. The pub also at More Ho is well worth a visit if you have time.
Enjoy your stay if you choose it. You won't regret it .

We'll keep a close eye on the weather...we've had 'windy experiences' and if we want to air awning up being we're there for a few days, that might be a negative point :)
