Or in our case with a visit to Vanbitz to have the an alarm fitted tomorrow (@eddievanbitz ).
Then after a few days in London we hope to be in the tunnel Sunday evening.

We've no initial route in mind but it looks likely that the Mosel valley is a good candidate. The next set point in time we have is the Twin Lakes rally in September, after which we'll not only be of no fixed abode (Home is where the Hymer is ) but also of no prepared destination.

Thanks to all of you that have helped guide us through the process to this point and there are many who have helped unknowingly as I've read most of the posts here over the last six months.

Our intention is to wander for the next three years until the van needs to be back in the U.K. for an MOT, and at that point review plans .... but who knows we may hate it and be back in here weeks !

Let's start with a blank canvas

Lucky you, enjoy.

I'm not sure, but if you were not back for the MOT it wouldn't matter as long as you had one booked when you re-entered the UK. Your insurers may insist on it.

Call taht a full garage?
Hah! You're not really trying mate.
You need to buy a shit load more stuff. (y)

Full is when you open the garage door and your feet are crushed by the weight of stuff falling out.

Looking forward to following your progress as we hope to do something similar (house currently in the process of being sold). As you have no doubt found, there are issues with not having a true permanent address, and there's the fact that if you intend to take a vehicle out of the UK for more than 12 months, you are supposed to inform DVLA, as they regard it as permanently exported and expect it to be registered elsewhere. But there are ways around everything if you're determined enough ;)

We're currently parked up in Balham south London visiting our son.

Yesterday we played golf in the rain at Richmond Park Golf course, not a patch on the real Richmond golf course. Where has all the good London weather gone ?

We're booked on the 19:50 tunnel crossing tonight but plan on arriving a couple of hours early to see if they have any space come free.

Tonight?

Cite de Europe or if we get an earlier crossing then head towards Lille

Wow what a adventure, sounds great, I nearly didn't open thread because I didn't connect it to anything (googled it Spirituality) when I read your post.
Up to you entirely but could you start a thread with a title something like "off on a 3 year adventure."
So many funsters I'm sure would love to follow your travels.

Best of Luck and have an amazing time. (y)

Have just picked up on this thread. Bon voyage, @Alistair33, and we look forward to reading about your adventures.

Hope you do decide to go to the Mosel Valley. We were there in 2015 and, despite so-so weather, it was really worth the trip. Enjoy!

P.S. We agree with Carol. The title of the thread may stop people from reading further.

Me for one, seen this thread for a day or two now but never looked, and yet as soon as the other one came up I was on to it right away.
