Thats terrible. Within twelve months I've had an ac unit fail, fridge freezer and now I have a short between live and earth. Pretty hard to find without a diagram.

I agree but that's the way the industry operate and it's not Just N+B, you say live/earth fault so are you talking about the 240v side?

As said no manufacturer let's you see their wiring diagrams.

The wiring in them is usually pretty good although there is a lot of it. presumably you ve had the AC unit and the FF replaced, my first port of call would be to have a look at the connections to those and any drilling that took place. Solar panels reg and inverter next, have you got a microwave?
