What do you guys get up to on those winter weekends?
Are there places in the UK to go in the winter?
Or do you spend you time planning for the following summer?
Would appreciate any thoughts
Regards
Robert

Winter 2011/12 went out in the van most weekends.

Kept van at home, heated with food, clothes - ready to go

Every week I'd just check the weather forecast and we'd head for the coast with the best weather - Wales, East coast, South, always on sites with EHU and with a pub close by - hardly missed a weekend

Soon learned not to go mid-week - everything shut

Less traffic on the roads, sometimes we were the only ones on site - great times(y)

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
We go where ever we fancy going.
We've got diesel heating (Webasto) it's fab. Although it's kept in storage it's warm in every nook and cranny in no time. The Webasto gets Red hot , it's quiet, we can run it without hook up. The coldest we've been is -17 up in Aviemore over the new year. No hook up . 10 days.
No such thing as bad weather. It's wrong clothing. As long as your prepared , warm , dry, you can go all year round.
Obviously we don't go on a boggy field, (though we know lots that don't mind that, getting dragged off by tractors and the like) but that's personal choice. We don't like mud n muck in the MH . So we go to places where we know there's hard standing. Lots of nice pubs welcome you , and let you stay in the car park, more so in grotty winter weather. If your eating in there.

We use the motorhome pretty much all year round.

Theres the whitby goth meet end of November and we do a November hogroast and mulled wine meet in Essex.

Then Haganap normally does something around christmas/new year as does Meanders who does a new year meet too.

Or first winter in Portugal was last winter but will be doing it every year from now on. Much better than uk winter. At least you can get some warmth.
even though it gets colder at night we still didn't need our heating on.
We did notice lots of Portuguese with heavy coats on where we could tell brits on short holidays as they were in t shirts and shorts.
We had heavier coats on later on as we acclimatised a bit.
