Has anyone fitted these to their MH? These look well knocked about but I wonder if they're a bit overkill.
I've seen commercial vehicles with custom made steel covers.

If they are metal ( they LOOK like metal ) I would not touch them.
You get a clout from a passing lorry as we did and it is not just goodbye mirror, but window and possibly door too !!
The weight generated by the kinetic energy would possibly be in the tonnes !!

Definitely metal, almost certainly homemade.
I have visions of a compensation claim if someone walks into one and injures themself

A fellow Funster in Morocco had their wing mirror taken out by a truck and it came through the window. So not just a nirror but new window glass required too.
And that was just with a standard plastic mirror housing.
A steel housing doesn't bear thinking about.
