Wing Mirror Fault

i had my drivers side wing mirror smashed on my Bessacarr 494 and replaced it as per instructions, for some reason though when i indicate there is an orange warning light showing stating RHS mirror on the dashboard as the fault. has anyone had this before and know the reason why? the indicator on the mirror is working fine however there is not temperature reading.

I had a similar problem and it turned out that the indicator bulb in new mirror was only 5 watts compared to the original at 15watts. ( a much smaller bulb physically as well) I inserted a 10 watt resistor in the mirror housing and all has been ok since. Maybe the same for you?? I didn't have an issue with the temperature reader so can't assist with that I'm afraid.

i wouldn't know where to start with a 10 watt resistor, not very clued up with the workings etc. is it not possible to replace the bulb with a 15 watt or is the size difference an issue?

Did you buy it from "Wing Mirror Man"? You have 14 days from purchase to request a return.
I think you perhaps should have ordered it with 16 volt indicator and temperature sensor - check you old one or ask Mirror Man for advice.
Lack of a Temp Sensor would give the faults you suggest.

unfortunately its way past the 14 days form purchase and tbh i was unaware of the 16 volt indicator and temperature sensor.

It may well be it came with an led bulb but as above I would fit a 10w resistor if you can't fit a bigger 15w bulb

I think this is right .....go into "your account"....then "privacy"...and you should find "start private conversation" (MHF version of pm) If that doesn't work let me know and I'll check it out.

Is the bulb easy to replace? It is on my Fiat Ducato (just two small screws accessed when the mirror is tilted into the mirror frame). If it is then replacement bulbs are only a few pounds. This seems an easier fix if like me you are not that confident in technical issue. You tube was very helpful.
