I'm a newbie
Hey all
So Rioja is my fav wine and I would love to do a wine tour of this region. Does anyone know if it’s possible this time of year and can anyone recommend any?? Pref with ability to pitch for night as obviously be unfit to drive after and I’m single traveller. The dogs offered to drive but his legs don’t reach the pedals😳
Thanks 🤞

We did a tour of Marques Dr Riscal about a month ago so some are definitely open. There's also a great free Aire in the Elziego village about 10 mins walk away (2 euro token from bar for some leccy). The hotel is something else as well.

Designed by the architect Frank Geary, it looks like a scrapyard in the sky from across the plateau. Amazing place. We stayed at La guardia. Enjoyed all the bodegas immensely, especially Marques de Riscal.

We've done Rioja 3 times twice in hotels once in the MH ( although it was just one night we were mainly visiting the Ribero Duero wine region). This was a good stay

We stopped on the aire and visited the winery to pay it included a tour and free tasting well it would have been rude not to!

If you get a chance a night in the tapas bars of Legrno is well worth it. The smaller ones have one thing that's their speciality you can work your way down the street with a small glass of wine and a tapas in each one. Not sure how much will be open in winter. As someone else said Marques de Riscal is well worth a visit and some of the wine makers in La Guardia and Muga and.........

Yep, definitely my idea of perfection.
I’m now thinking I need to build mini wine storage section in my van to maintain the ambient 15deg……oooh I’m excited, can’t wait go now

The town of Haro which has the muga vineyard within walking distance from the sports centre which was a free spot to park with no services. They have a shop but not sure if they do tours but the red and sparkling rose is superb.

Been on the Muga tour it's one of the few places that still make barrels and use egg whites to fine the wines.
