Hi Lesley, Very, very long shot but there is a caravan breakers near me who once had a motorhome part I needed for my last van... His phone number is 07746389352. It is probably a no go but miracles do happen as per my motorhome part. If he has one, I can pick it up for you.

I wonder if it can be fixed with fiber glass or similar. A body repair kit should do the job from somewhere like Halfrauds.

It appears to have a hole in the bottom of it.
First picture.

Should've gone to Specsavers. :coolest:
(Other opticians are available)

I didn`t see that...

"Araldite"... and a small patch of Fibre Glass matting will soon fix that..(y)

Just make sure it is clean and oil & grease free... (y)

Fibre glass (Resin & Hardener) will probably separate from the plastic after time.. :(

But Araldite sticks like *hit to a blanket... (y)

It's got a hole in the bottom:)

I have searched you tube and taken the video to show garage guy of a repair.
Also took another plastic bottle for him to try and plastic weld it.

Thanks Joy

I did give him a ring, but he didn't have one. :crying:

Duct tape. Seriously, if the surfaces are clean and dry it'll hold water.

We mended our overturned caravan with duct tape AND completed a two week holiday in it. Never underestimate the power of duct tape.

If it moves when it shouldn't use duct tape. If it doesn't move when it should use WD 40.

since 2007, 25 years tuggin before that.
I'd use Sikaflex or silicone.
Clean the bottle round the hole, inside and out. Big dollop of sealant on sticky side of duck tape & fix.
Tape will hold it 'till sealant cures.

Definitely going to try that approach - my washer bottle appears to have sprung a leak along the seam at the bottom middle section, so there should be plenty of opportunity for duct tape to stick whilst the sealant does its thing. I knew I'd find a solution if I looked on here!

Cheers!

I have repaired a cooling system header tank with a soldering iron. It was meant to be temporary repair but the new tank was never ordered, it saved money according to my boss.
The electrician wasn’t amused his big soldering iron smelled of plastic for weeks.

My bike has a modified header, with a bolt thru it for the crush bung. All plastic welded. It’s been holding for years.

My original post was in 2014.
I have sold that vehicle now.
Well what repair method did you use, did it hold?
Real feedback or a cop out " i can't remember "
My favourite would have been standard araldite plus a smig of heat for flow (60C)
Need to be careful with heat and plastics ( thermoplastic or thermosettin)
