Given the limitations of solar panels during winter months in the UK, has anyone any experience of wind generators?

Too much vibration and too noisy.

Certainly my experience from mooring next to boats fitted with one, and the echoing of the vibration inside much have been much worse.

If you move every 2-3 days and not static for a week or more Battert-to-battery charger would be more effective. It will put in 10X what a wind generator would generate, even on calm days. No good if it is for winter storage.

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
You'd need to mount it on a tripod. I had one on my boat. It was so rumbly and annoying that I had to feather it in the evenings and overnight.
