I use an unlocked HUAWEI E5223 mifi unit using a giffgaff payg sim card.

The mifi creates its own wifi hotspot via the mobile phone network.

Can connect up to 8 wifi enabled gadgets wirelessly

tis simple enough.....either set your mobile phone up as a hotspot to share its connection or use a 3g or 4g mobile broadband device called a MIFI

But be warned.....not all service providers allow wifi tethering.

Tethering is using one internet enabled device to connect other devices to the internet

Yup as above Bluetooth tethering to mobile or mobile wifi hotspot
both work just as good & the speed is dependant on your 3/4g signal
Ive had several on mine (y)

Last 2 years have been buying 3 90 day /3 gb sims for just over 20 quid using a 3 mifi, but using van so much they are only lasting a month this last 6 months. Called at 3 shop today asking for best deals and walked out with a 1 month rolling contract of £15 a month for 10gb of data which we are quite pleased with. 30 day notice to terminate

As I spend a lot of time out of UK I use Mifi with a 3 data card £25 for 7 gig, I am now in the middle of France and it works very well. I use an ipad, laptop and net book all work fine.
