Simple question really...what are the main disadvantages of having a longer Motorhome?

Also what do you consider to be an ideal length?

Answers on a postcard please...

Our pay load is about 400 kilos and that is without a spare wheel and a single habitation battery.
Fully loaded with full tanks we still have 500kg spare.:D2
Frome experience I reckon for 2 you need a payload over MIRO of 700kg.
How long is that overhang, looks like the wheelbase is too short for the van
Our overhang is 2m & wheelbase 4.4m.

Not sure how you measure, I have taken from the center of the rear wheel to the end and that measures 2.43.

So things have moved on and we are now contemplating the purchase of a 2008 Bürstner Aviano i684, which comes in at 6.95m!

We've been to a few dealers and kicked the tyres of quite a few different vans and the Aviano i684 ticks all of my boxes and is (just about) within our budget.

This one is for sale privately so I'm getting a full pre-purchase inspection done by an MCEA accredited engineer on Thursday with a view to doing the deal next weekend.

Very excited, and a little nervous.

Since my previous reply we bought a 5.4m van

As you can see, we can park anywhere!
