which reminds me of the time I got a bollocking from the Stellplatz Fuhrer at Enkrich on the Mosel :(

it was a Sunday morning, we had packed up and I drove over to drain the tanks before leaving.. around 9am I guess ..

while doing the business, big German guy marches up and lays into me..

"In Germany, ve sleep late on Sundays.. no one moves before 10 o'clock" .
Sounds like the place for the 2Stroke Generators owners club weekend away bash

We will be off a site early at least twice this year, it was six times last year. In each case it was to catch a ferry, with a drive of several hours on disembarking.
When tenting years ago, or with an awning up, often the weather determined an early rise to get the canvas down dry.
If we don't have to rise and get out and about early, then we don't, it could be 10 am before we will finally let the light in.
In warmer climes, it can be uncomfortable leaving getting up and about till later, quite too warm even by 9am, so again early rises may be called for.
Finally, it's one of those personal choice things, no one is forced to, but no one should be forced not to.
